In a nutshell, I’m an athlete-turned-anatomy-geek. I spend 1/2 my time joyfully immersed in the world of graphic design, and the other 1/2 learning, exploring, and teaching yoga and movement therapies. My creativity is balanced with a large dose of Type-A tendencies (read: I love spreadsheets), and I’ve recently learned that it’s okay to take a day off. Balance isn’t just on the mat…
When I teach, I’m committed to precision, technique, and having FUN. Because if it’s not fun.. why bother? I get excited when someone realizes that, tailored properly, the practice really is for every body. I enjoy geeking out about muscles and bones and all things anatomy related.
West Texas born and raised, I’ve been an athlete since age 4, and have competed in sports ranging from soccer and rugby to triathlon and partner acrobatics. A multitude of ridiculous injuries and 5 joint surgeries later, I knew I had to do something differently. In my last triathlon season, I cut my training in half, and instead added yoga & thai massage as my version of ‘cross-training.’ The payoff? I got faster, and my body hurt less. Light bulbs went off. Eventually I was spending more time with yoga and thai, and discovered both to be paths of healing, connection and even more importantly for me: sustainable athleticism. Soon enough, I couldn’t help but share it…and so I began to teach.
Taylor has been giving me private instruction for months. She is very knowledgeable about the human body and about different forms of yoga practice. Since I’ve started with her I’ve seen an improvement in my posture, strength, flexibility, and back pain. Everytime I come to her with a new ache or pain she has a solution. And when I take group classes I’m complimented on my breathing, form, and strength, which I owe to Taylor.!Cheryl Fisher
Taylor is everything a yoga instructor should be: Calm energy, sharp eye, great adjustments, and a great ability to progress beginners, challenge advanced practitioners, and modify each exercise/pose based on each person individual needs.KATONAH YOGA STUDENT
I’ve taken a yoga class here and there and never felt like I ever “got it”. Taylor taught a class specifically for runners which targeted injuries and the training needs of runners. She is easy to relate to and took the time to explain what we should feel and where. That’s something I have not gotten in other mainstream yoga classes. I cant wait to use what I’ve learned throughout my training.PURE YOGA STUDENT
